Duck Hunting Dates: November 5th to January 15th
Location: Eastern Wyoming, near the town of Torrington, just across the Nebraska border. Located along the world-famous North Platte River, this area is the wintering ground for very large concentrations of Canada geese and mallards.
Depending on the northern weather, the mallards begin arriving as early as late October, and when they first arrive can be some of the most spectacular decoy hunting there is. I hunt on the North Platte and also have available several ponds and marshes just off the river.
Nightly scouting will ensure that hunters will be in the best location the next morning. Mallards coming to the call and decoys are one of the greatest thrills for a water fowler.
